LIBERTY EXCHANGE ORGANIZATION

PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR IRANIANS

Every person whose life is improved or saved, stems from an act of generosity that’s purely voluntary. That’s why hosting a language student is so extraordinary when you do it.

LIBERTY Students are young adults from Iran aged between 16-19. The LIBERTY Student is considered as a full member of the family; she/he lives with a Canadian family (or person), usually for 6-12 months.

The LIBERTY Student helps the family with cooking, cleaning and light household tasks. In return, the host family provides free board and lodging as well as pocket money.

ABOUT US

OUR PROGRAMS

Liberty Exchange provides an opportunity to learn English for students from some of the most opportunity-deprived regions of Iran, who otherwise don’t have access to English-speaking people or communities.

ABOUT US

For over years, Liberty Exchange has been working to abolish English illiteracy from the Iranian youth, ever since the Iranian Ministry of Education banned the teaching of English in all Iranian schools.

GET INVOLVED

Whether you contribute by hosting a language student or as an advocate for good, by trying to find host families for the students, you make a real difference in an educationally deprived individual’s life.

LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR STUDENTS

Each year, the Canadian-Iranian Liberty Exhange convenes a select group of hopeful teenagers from all around Iran, known as LIBERTY Students.

Over the past six years, the LIBERTY Students has involved a total of 526 females and 143 males, from 50 different ciities in Iran, in a two-week experiential, interactive, learning and networking language program in 15 cities in the Canada that have developed unique, effective approaches to addressing the teaching of English as a second language.

Following the conclusion of the program, LIBERTY Students leverage the knowledge and networks they gain during their language learning experience in Canada to enact positive change in their own communities and regions in Iran.

LIBERTY Students all over Canada use the tools and connections to offer comprehensive services to iranian students, reduce vulnerability to the government ban of teaching English, and contribute to a worldwide network of language teachers and student who are creating a more connected world for us all.

Family members of all ages will experience that being a host family for an iranian LIBERTY Student provides a unique opportunity to get to know a new culture and a new country. Being a host family is very rewarding, for each and every member of your family.

You will all get another person to cherish and your everyday-life will get a true energy boost. You will have a new family member who will help you take care of the children, contribute with cooking and cleaning, and who will participate in your family life.

WE ARE HERE TO HELP!

Liberty Staff will be with you every step of the way when hosting students: helping you select the host student that best fits your family; guiding you through your student’s transition to their new country; introducing you to other families in your community; and organizing optional fun excursions. TESTIMONIALS

“Hosting international students through Liberty Exchange has been a good experience for me. It’s been great to meet students from Iran and learn about their different culture. I love to do fun things with my students like camping, going to the beach, and cooking dishes from their home country.”

– Susan Palubecki, Liberty Host family for 3 years

“We began our experience last year (2019-2020) by hosting one girl. We picked her because she had a lot in common with our oldest daughter. After speaking with her, we fell in love! She was with us for about 6 weeks, we decided to add a second student, a boy. We had a family vote, including our student, and could not have done a better thing. We loved him immediately too. They were a great fit. We had so many laughs and there was so much joy in our home. Our own kids have grown so much as individuals!.”

– Christina Peterson, Liberty Host family for 7 years
